Hydro Tasmania Three Peaks Race Blog

Saturday, 11 April 2009

Aubrey Hendricks and Doug Grubert, runners from Premium Constructions, slipped through race control almost undetected at 12.36pm, posting a time of less than 6 1/2 hours - up with the top runners in the race.
It has been a long time since so many quality teams have been "in the running" for The King of the Mountain trophy, but it is set to be hotly contested this year between Piper and Guy, Kromar and Blake, Houniet and Winsbury and Hendricks and Grubert.

  • I enjoy reading the blog, but, why are the radio sked position and current positions (yacht tracker) links not working?

  • The automatic yacht tracker doesn't work because there was a technological glitch with the hardware we put on the boats last year to transmit the positions, so they aren't being used this year. The plan was to manually update the boats' positions on a google earth map using positions reported at the skeds, just after every 4 and 10 o'clock. If the link to the ''curent position'' on the front page of the website is not working, I think it may have something to do with your access to google earth. I am trying to figure that out myself as it does not work on my computer. Will let you know what i discover.

  • Hello again,
I can't find out why the link doesn't work. But check this out http://www.threepeaks.org.au/spot/tracker.php
Tas Marine Systems has its own tracking device, so at least this gives you some idea of where the fleet is at.
