Welcome to our up-to-the-minute coverage of the 2010 Hydro Tasmania Three Peaks Race.
In 24 hours the 22nd annual race will be under way, with the race's smallest-ever fleet heading out the Tamar River.
Following the fleet will be easier than ever before thanks to Ocean Tracker, which has installed a satellite tracker on each boat, enabling their positions to be plotted every 15 minutes.
Another change to this year's race is the awarding of points for the Tilman Trophy. Instead of boats entering the competition for an added challenge, all crews will be entered and points awarded based on the number of crew-members who compete in the running legs, the average age of the crew and the amount of motoring allowance used (cruising division).
David Rees' Team Whistler is hoping to take out that trophy as part of their "Two Countries Six Peaks" 2010 campaign - more on that later.
Terry Travers and Phil Marshall look the goods for the overall win but with such an open fleet and evenly-matched runners, it could be an interesting battle. The racing monohulls are a competitive fleet this year with some bigger boats and plenty of experienced competitors entered.
Right now the crews of ten boats are tearing around making last-minute adjustments, switching gear and crew and crossing their fingers that they'll be fit and ready for tomorrow. Typical sailors.
The welcome cocktail party will be hosted by Port Dalrymple Yacht Club from 6pm tonight.
